Austin Urban Technology Movement (AUTM) is excited to send out its 100th newsletter edition! We began with grand ambitions to reach out to people like you, and here we are now, with more than 4K subscribers. Our goal is to get the community involved with AUTM by sharing our mission, goals, and vision. Thanks to the efforts of the AUTM team, which includes partners, volunteers, and supporters, we were able to attain and celebrate a huge milestone today!
Oops!...AUTM did it again.
AUTM hosted another device distribution at the African American Youth Harvest Foundation (AAYFH) headquarters in Austin, Texas.
Our distribution drives allow participants to receive the technology necessary to complete AUTM's many career pathways, earn a credential, and help AUTM accomplish its mission to push more Black and Hispanic individuals into the tech Industry.
AUTMites, were also able to sign up for free internet and meet with our CEO, Michael Ward Jr. to learn more about what it means to be a part of our program. We were able to support more than 10 different families with donated/refurbished computers, internet access, digital literacy, and enrollment into our workforce development training program from underrepresented and low-income communities. In the cryptocurrency world, non-fungible tokens (NFT) are taking the spotlight by attracting the attention of sports enthusiasts around the world and convincing more athletes to follow suit with their collections. On Tuesday, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles will be tapping into the growing industry by launching a collection of her own, according to a press release.
“Like most people, I’ve been hearing more and more about NFTs over the past few months,” Biles told Forbes. “It’s been such an interesting space to learn about, and I’m thrilled to finally participate with my first ever NFT collection.”

For their generation, [this field] just doesn’t make sense. [At first] I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, so I was prepared to just try out different careers. New online site launched to help people get child tax credit: GetCTC.org
WASHINGTON (AP) — The government has collaborated on a new internet site to help more Americans apply for and receive the expanded child tax credit, a monthly payment of as much as $300 per child that was part of the coronavirus relief package.
GetCTC.org was developed by Code for America in partnership with the White House and Treasury Department, according to a statement Wednesday. The goal is to provide a straightforward, online form that can be accessed via mobile phones for people who are not legally obligated to file taxes to apply for the tax credit because they don't earn enough money.
