"All men are created equal"
AUTMHQ UPDATES Hola and Hello!
We hope your Fourth of July holiday was joyful and insightful. This is the day we honor the inclusive foundation upon which our nation was built. "All men are created equal," is what our founding fathers intended. Our country offers independent ideals, but they rely on togetherness and community. The mission of the Austin Urban Technology Movement (AUTMHQ), as we have repeatedly demonstrated, is to reshape the tech industry in order to help develop a more diverse and inclusive sector that will provide opportunities to underserved communities. Because everyone deserves a shot, AUTMHQ provides training, resources such as devices and Internet access, incentives, mentorship, and job placement assistance to give the Black and Hispanic communities a better chance at a self-sustaining life. AUTMHQ is more than a non-profit FOR the community; it is a movement that offers a big opportunity to change your life, therefore don't wait any longer and start today, because your decisions of today are your achievements of tomorrow. Let us enhance our sense of community and work together to establish a better, brighter America.

The first graduates from Momentum’s Amazon Web Services re/Start training program will soon be entering the workforce.
Now, the non-profit is looking to connect them with tech jobs here in Calgary.
The pilot program was launched earlier this year in conjunction with the Government of Alberta. It was a way to specifically target skills training for women wanting to enter the tech industry.
The program, as planned, was able to fill an initial 13 spots for women looking to start a new career. Graduates will be certified AWS cloud practitioners, skilled in programming for cloud services.
As a final component of the re/Start training, Momentum is looking to connect its students with a work placement for hands-on workplace experience before graduation.
“We have a baseline of employers that we can draw on, but we also know that this is an amazing opportunity for employers that want to see more women in the tech sector,” said Donna McBride, director of operations for Momentum.

The Future of Money & Finance Is Arriving Faster Than You Think
Join the Austin Forum Tuesday, July 12, at 6 p.m. for a presentation on the landscape and horizon for cryptocurrencies and blockchain tech.
Bitcoin awareness is now pervasive, and most of us have now heard of other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, Dogecoin, etc, but cryptocurrencies have often seemed like a technology fad to those not actively engaged in the space. However, that perception is changing rapidly as cryptocurrencies are increasingly accepted for more and more everyday transactions and have become a valid component in investment portfolios. What’s more, blockchain-powered smart contract technology now enables new paradigms and products ranging from NFTs (non-fungible tokens) to DeFi (decentralized finance) systems that may forever change finance and transactions. What are cryptocurrencies? How are they being used now—and next? And what do you—and your company or organization—need to know to take advantage of this new technology paradigm? Join us as Jeannette Spaulding, CEO of Inveniam Asset Management returns to the Austin Forum with a comprehensive overview and an update on the landscape and horizon for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
